An extraordinary full figure anthropomorphic cohoba stand made of Lignum vitae. Probably representing an important chief or shaman. Made to support a vessel containing the hallucinogen cohoba for ritual consumption.
Mouth has incised binding line indicating it originally had shell teeth. Unusually tall for a cohoba stand and in excellent condition. Free standing.
